Gina's Garden Lodges
About this stay
Gina's Garden Lodges is a small budget property on the outskirts of Tautu village, on the main island of Aitutaki, set in a quiet and lush tropical garden. The lodges are simple but comfortable, with televisions and on-site Wi-Fi access, and families with children are welcome. It is inland rather than on the beach, so the lagoon and Aitutaki's famous motu are reached by car, scooter or tour. It suits families and budget travelers who want to see one of the Pacific's most beautiful lagoons without paying resort prices.

About Aitutaki
Aitutaki is a small, low-key island in the southern Cook Islands, about 50 minutes by air north of Rarotonga. It is almost an atoll: a modest volcanic island sits at one corner of a wide triangular lagoon edged by a chain of sandy motu. Most visitors come for the lagoon itself, which is shallow, clear and good for swimming, snorkelling and kayaking. It suits couples, slow travellers and anyone who wants water time over nightlife, and it is noticeably quieter than Rarotonga.
Getting there
Aitutaki Airport (AIT) is served by Air Rarotonga from Rarotonga, a flight of about 50 minutes, with several services most days. Day tours from Rarotonga are common, but staying a few nights lets you see the lagoon at quieter times. International arrivals come through Rarotonga first.
