Havaiki Lodge is a pension-style guesthouse on Fakarava, an atoll in the Tuamotus inside a UNESCO biosphere reserve. Its bungalows sit along the lagoon in the north of the atoll, the end with the airstrip, the main village of Rotoava and the north pass. Fakarava is known for its reef sharks and clear pass dives, and life here moves slowly: a few shops, a church, bicycles. It suits divers and travelers who want simple, lagoon-front accommodation on one of French Polynesia's least built-up atolls.
