Little Italy Hotel
About this stay
Little Italy is a small family-run hotel and Italian restaurant on Vuna Road, along the Nukuʻalofa waterfront. The restaurant opened in 1996 in a traditional Tongan house and moved into its current three-storey building in 2007. Its 22 rooms range from singles to rooms for a family of four, many with ocean views, and breakfast is included. Downtown Nukuʻalofa is a short walk along the seafront, and the hotel also rents cars. It suits families and travelers who want a friendly, reasonably priced base in the capital.

About Tongatapu
Tongatapu is Tonga's main island and home to the capital, Nuku'alofa, the royal palace and most of the population. It is flat, fringed by reef and dotted with plantations, villages and churches. It suits travellers interested in history and the monarchy, and anyone passing through on the way to Ha'apai or Vava'u. Compared with the outer islands it is busier and more practical, with markets, banks and government offices.
Getting there
Fua'amotu International Airport (TBU) is about 20 kilometres from Nuku'alofa. Flights connect with Auckland, Sydney, Brisbane and Nadi. Domestic flights and the inter-island ferry link Tongatapu with Ha'apai, Vava'u and 'Eua.
