Chez Guynette
About this stay
Chez Guynette is a budget guesthouse in the middle of Fare, Huahine's main village, about 100 metres from the beach. It has simple private rooms and an eight-bed dormitory, among the cheapest beds on the island. The hosts help arrange the island's activities, from dive clubs and kayak, bike and car rental to lagoon excursions and airport transfers. It suits backpackers, solo travelers and anyone watching their budget who wants to be within walking distance of the waterfront, the shops and the food trucks of Fare.

About Huahine
Huahine is two high islands, Huahine Nui in the north and Huahine Iti in the south, joined by a short bridge and sharing one lagoon. It is green, quiet and lightly developed, with small villages, vanilla and fruit plantations and very few large hotels. It suits travellers who want to cycle, snorkel and explore archaeological sites rather than spend every day at a resort. Compared with neighbouring Bora Bora it feels more rural and much less busy.
Getting there
Huahine's airport (HUH) is a few kilometres north of Fare. Air Tahiti flies from Papeete in about 40 minutes and links Huahine with Moorea, Raiatea and Bora Bora. Inter-island cargo ships from Papeete also call at Fare, arriving after an overnight voyage.
