Pension Tupuna
About this stay
Pension Tupuna is a family guesthouse on the shore of Port Bourayne, a sheltered bay on the west side of Huahine Nui, out of sight of the main road. Six bungalows, some looking over the garden and some over the bay, sit around a traditional open-sided fare where meals are served. Fare village and the airport are a drive away, so a car or bike helps. It suits couples and independent travelers who want a calm, green setting with a family welcome, and who prefer a small pension to a hotel.

About Huahine
Huahine is two high islands, Huahine Nui in the north and Huahine Iti in the south, joined by a short bridge and sharing one lagoon. It is green, quiet and lightly developed, with small villages, vanilla and fruit plantations and very few large hotels. It suits travellers who want to cycle, snorkel and explore archaeological sites rather than spend every day at a resort. Compared with neighbouring Bora Bora it feels more rural and much less busy.
Getting there
Huahine's airport (HUH) is a few kilometres north of Fare. Air Tahiti flies from Papeete in about 40 minutes and links Huahine with Moorea, Raiatea and Bora Bora. Inter-island cargo ships from Papeete also call at Fare, arriving after an overnight voyage.
