Manava Beach Resort is at Maharepa on Moorea's north-east coast, a few minutes from the mouth of Cook's Bay and the small airport. Guests stay in detached bungalows by a calm, shallow stretch of lagoon. The setting is quieter than the ferry end of the island but still close to the bay's restaurants and shops. It is a reasonable middle ground for travelers who want bungalows on the water in Moorea without paying the island's top resort prices. Ferries to Papeete leave from Vaiare, a short drive south.
