Matafonua Lodge sits on the northern tip of Foa Island in Ha'apai, the low, scattered middle group of Tonga's islands. Its fales are on the beach with views across to neighboring islands, and the lodge now operates together with Sandy Beach Resort nearby. Ha'apai sees very few visitors, so beaches are often empty.
