Paia Inn
About this stay
Paia Inn is a boutique hotel in the middle of Pāʻia, the old plantation town on Maui's north shore that is now known for its surf shops, cafés and galleries. Rooms and suites look over the garden, the town or the ocean, and the hotel has its own path down to the beach. Pāʻia is the usual starting point for the Road to Hana, so it makes an easy base for an early start. It suits couples who would rather walk to dinner in a small town than stay in a resort enclave.
About Maui
Maui is the second-largest Hawaiian island, formed by two volcanoes joined by a low central isthmus, which is why it is called the Valley Isle. It suits a wide range of travellers: families on the sunny beaches of Kā'anapali, Kapalua and Wailea, hikers on the slopes of Haleakalā, and road-trippers on the winding drive to Hāna.
Getting there
Kahului Airport (OGG) is the main gateway, with direct flights from many US mainland cities and frequent inter-island flights from Honolulu, about 40 minutes. Smaller airports at Kapalua (JHM) and Hāna (HNM) handle limited commuter services. A passenger ferry runs to Lana'i.
