Sensei Lanai, A Four Seasons Resort
About this stay
Sensei Lanai is a wellness-focused resort in Lānaʻi's cool upland interior, near Lānaʻi City and surrounded by Cook pines and landscaped gardens rather than beach. Stays are built around spa treatments, fitness, nutrition and guided activities, with an emphasis on rest and recovery. The beaches of Hulopoʻe Bay are a drive away on the south coast. It suits travelers who want a structured wellness retreat with very high service levels, rather than a classic beach holiday, and who are prepared for top-tier pricing.

About Lana'i
Lana'i is a small, quiet island of about 3,000 residents, almost all living in Lāna'i City, a former plantation town built around a square of tall Cook pines. For much of the twentieth century the island was a pineapple plantation, and today it combines that working-town heritage with a small number of resort-style stays. It suits travellers who want calm, empty roads and time outdoors rather than nightlife, and it is often visited on a day trip from Maui.
Getting there
Lāna'i Airport (LNY) is served by small commuter flights, mainly from Honolulu, taking about 30 minutes. A passenger ferry links Lana'i with Maui, taking about an hour, with the crossing often bringing views of whales and dolphins in season.
