Amoa Resort

About this stay

Amoa Resort is on the east coast of Savaiʻi, north of the Salelologa ferry wharf, set in tropical gardens beside a sheltered lagoon. It has 27 rooms and villas scattered through the grounds, including poolside villas sized for families, plus a pool, restaurant and gift shop. The lagoon in front is good for swimming and snorkeling, and the resort can arrange transfers, tours and self-drive rental. It suits couples and families who want a comfortable, easy first base on Savaiʻi close to the ferry.

About Savai'i

Savai'i is the larger of Samoa's two main islands but has a much smaller population than Upolu, with villages strung around the coast and a high, forested interior. It suits travellers who want beach fale stays, lava landscapes and village life with very little development. Compared with Upolu there are fewer resorts, shops and restaurants, and the pace slows noticeably once you step off the ferry.

Getting there

International flights arrive at Faleolo International Airport (APW) on Upolu. From there it is a short drive to Mulifanua Wharf, where vehicle and passenger ferries cross to Salelologa on Savai'i in about an hour to an hour and a half.
