Savaii Lagoon Resort

About this stay

Savaii Lagoon Resort is a small beachfront resort at Fagamalo on the north coast of Savaiʻi, facing a calm lagoon. It has air-conditioned beach and beachside bungalows, including one-bedroom units with space for a family, each with an outdoor shower, a small fridge and a microwave. Rates include a tropical breakfast with a Samoan dish of the day, and the restaurant hosts fiafia nights of song and dance. It suits families and couples who want a relaxed, mid-priced stay on the water on Samoa's quieter big island.

About Savai'i

Savai'i is the larger of Samoa's two main islands but has a much smaller population than Upolu, with villages strung around the coast and a high, forested interior. It suits travellers who want beach fale stays, lava landscapes and village life with very little development. Compared with Upolu there are fewer resorts, shops and restaurants, and the pace slows noticeably once you step off the ferry.

Getting there

International flights arrive at Faleolo International Airport (APW) on Upolu. From there it is a short drive to Mulifanua Wharf, where vehicle and passenger ferries cross to Salelologa on Savai'i in about an hour to an hour and a half.
