InterContinental Tahiti Resort & Spa
About this stay
InterContinental Tahiti sits on the west coast at Faa'a, a few minutes from the international airport, with gardens running down to the lagoon and Moorea on the horizon. It has garden and lagoon-view rooms as well as overwater bungalows, plus pools, restaurants and a spa. Its location makes it the obvious choice for a first or last night in French Polynesia, or for travelers who want an overwater room without flying on to the outer islands. Expect a large international resort rather than a local guesthouse.

About Tahiti
Tahiti is the largest and most populated island in French Polynesia and the arrival point for almost every visitor. It is made of two volcanic islands joined at the Taravao isthmus: Tahiti Nui, the larger, and Tahiti Iti, the peninsula to the southeast. It suits travellers who want culture, food, hiking and surf rather than a quiet lagoon. Compared with Moorea or Bora Bora it is busier and more urban, especially around Papeete.
Getting there
Faa'a International Airport (PPT) is just west of Papeete and is the main international gateway for French Polynesia, with long-haul flights from cities such as Los Angeles, Paris, Auckland and Tokyo. Air Tahiti connects Tahiti with the outer islands, and ferries cross to Moorea in about 30 to 45 minutes.
