Vanira Lodge is a small set of Polynesian-style bungalows on Tahiti Iti, the island's quieter peninsula, near the village of Teahupo'o and its famous reef break. There are around ten bungalows plus a restaurant. The road ends not far beyond Teahupo'o, so this is a place for slowing down: boat trips to the wave, walks in the valleys and quiet evenings. It suits surfers, surf spectators and travelers who want rural Tahiti instead of Papeete's hotel strip. A rental car is the easiest way to get here from the airport.
