Pension de la Plage
About this stay
Pension de la Plage is a family guesthouse in Punaauia on Tahiti's west coast, a short drive south of the airport and Papeete. It offers rooms, family rooms and studios with kitchenettes at guesthouse prices, with the services of a small hotel. The Museum of Tahiti and Her Islands and the west-coast beaches are nearby. It suits travelers on a budget who need a night or two on Tahiti between flights and ferries, and families who want simple, air-conditioned rooms rather than a resort.

About Tahiti
Tahiti is the largest and most populated island in French Polynesia and the arrival point for almost every visitor. It is made of two volcanic islands joined at the Taravao isthmus: Tahiti Nui, the larger, and Tahiti Iti, the peninsula to the southeast. It suits travellers who want culture, food, hiking and surf rather than a quiet lagoon. Compared with Moorea or Bora Bora it is busier and more urban, especially around Papeete.
Getting there
Faa'a International Airport (PPT) is just west of Papeete and is the main international gateway for French Polynesia, with long-haul flights from cities such as Los Angeles, Paris, Auckland and Tokyo. Air Tahiti connects Tahiti with the outer islands, and ferries cross to Moorea in about 30 to 45 minutes.
